
Twenty lifters from MUWPC stormed Australia’s No. 1 Fitness Show and came away with multiple records, titles and medals! The Big Two, Supers Tony Reinmuth and Yani Zhao competed in the international Pacific Invitational. Tony totalled 870kg. (340+215+315kg) to now rank as Australia’s Strongest Man in 2017. Yani produced a World Class 522.5kg. weighing only 87kg. and on the way through set an Australian Deadlift record of 210kg.
And who had held that record? Our own Nolene Kingi, who deadlifted 209kg. AR the day before. That was inside a massively improved 489kg. Total for Nolene. MUWPC had a multitude of other big improvers, just a few being —
Adam Jones, 675kg @ 83kg. including a 290kg. Deadlift & then 292.5kg. in the Pro Deadlift on Day 2
battling Arif Shahrum up to 527.5kg in the 74kg. class
James Dudley, up 30kg in the Bench Press in a year with 140kg.
and on it went.
Next up our squad will be taking on the World’s best students in the World University Championships in South Africa in July & the Australian Junior Championships in August
